Too much "space!"
Since 1995, I have been going to see DMB. Last year, I almost didn't go because I wasn't sure if I would enjoy an acoustic version of his songs, which I knew were going to be good but not as rich as the full band sound. But, of course, I went and had a blast! One of the things that surprised me and was so fun with last year's show was that the songs were shorter, maybe more "radio" version, but they played so many more songs than I had heard in a while. Might have been exhausting for them, but it was awesome for the audience. This year, EVERY song was a jam session, and there was a LOT of space between songs. I love you DMB, but that gets really boring by the end of the night. Much of that time, your audience is waiting for it to be over and for the next song to start, although you play for a long time. Fun for one or two songs like that? Fine! Not so fun all night.
